POL S 367: The Indian Supreme Court & Rape Law: I wrote this research paper on the Supreme Court of India and how it engages in social activism through fundamental rights protection and rape law. At this point I had become very interested in India, having traveled there after my high school graduation. I also wrote this paper after the 2012 Delhi gang rape case, which horrified me, yet also compelled me to examine how the Court was dedicated to gender justice and to reforming the criminal justice system in regards to the protection of rape victims and the sentencing of the perpetrators. This paper ultimately demonstrates my burgeoning interest in Indian law and politics.
